Created in 2009, the Concours Avenir was one of the first joint competitions allowing access to associative Postbac Engineering Schools in France. Today, among the 10 private engineering schools most requested by Terminale Générale students on Parcoursup in 2021, 7 are part of the Avenir Competition which therefore remains essential for a large number of Terminale students and has been positioned for several years as the largest joint competition (in number of candidates) allowing access to the large private Postbac engineering schools in France and within the Parcoursup portal.

With nearly 2,000 places offered, this competition is the most selective for access to private post-graduate engineering schools in France.
Today it brings together 7 Grandes Ecoles engineers, spread over 16 distinct campuses: ECE-Paris / Lyon, EIGSI La Rochelle / Casablanca, EPF Paris-Cachan / Troyes / Montpellier / St Nazaire, ESIGELEC Rouen, ESILV Paris-La Défense / Nantes, ESITC Caen / Lyon / Le Havre and ESTACA Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines / Laval.
All are authorized by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur (CTI), members of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE)
